I have been in the Real Estate business for over 20 years and have
always considered myself ahead of others when it came to marketing.
After learning about blogging and its influence in gaining clients I
realized I was behind. Scouring the internet I stumbled across a highly
interesting article on one agents experience with his personal real
estate blog. This agent decided to embrace the real estate collapse as
an opportunity to offer advice for individuals in short sale situations.
The
agent began his new endeavor by first understanding analytics. He
gathered info on better understanding how individuals arrived at his
blog. He collected key words and phrases from their Google Searches.
Looking at the data he was able to maximize his influence by remaining
in front of other bloggers.
The payoff was remarkable.
He realized the more content he wrote the more business he was gaining.
Other Realtor bloggers were writing too many words whereas this
particular Realtor wrote less words but more substance to keep the
consumer interested. One of the smartest things he did was to end his
blog stating, "if someone outside his market area needed help finding a
short sale Realtor I would help find one." Realtors are able to collect
commissions from referring agents to clients outside their area. This
agent was collecting 45k in commissions a year just from his blog on
short sales.
What I realized from the article is that a
blog helps you as an authoritative influence. If you do a good job
writing you can maximize your followers and gain clients.
